Question 1

Are discounts still effective during India’s festive season?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Price and value remain important festive purchase triggers. The limitation is that a discount alone may create little differentiation or reusable customer intelligence.

Question 2

Is cashback better than a reward?

Accepted Answer

Neither is universally better. Cashback is simple and liquid. Experiences, vouchers, merchandise or entertainment can create different perceived value depending on the audience and objective.

Question 3

What is a purchase-verified promotion?

Accepted Answer

It is a promotion where the qualifying purchase or action is validated using mechanisms such as a unique code, QR, OTP, invoice, OCR, transaction information or approved operational data.

Question 4

Can WhatsApp be used for festive promotions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. WhatsApp can provide a low-friction participation and communication layer for suitable campaigns when combined with appropriate consent, verification and customer-service processes.

Question 5

How can brands reduce promotion fraud?

Accepted Answer

Brands can use unique-code controls, invoice validation, OTP, duplicate detection, transaction checks and anomaly monitoring depending on campaign requirements.

Question 6

Should brands reward repeat purchase rather than first purchase?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the business objective. First-purchase rewards can accelerate acquisition or trial. Repeat-purchase rewards can support habit formation and retention.

Question 7

How should festive promotion ROI be measured?

Accepted Answer

Brands should measure the incremental behaviour the promotion was designed to create rather than relying only on redemption numbers.
